Job Description: 

 

We are a mid-size pharmaceutical company looking for a onsite IT helpdesk specialist.  Our organization is approx. 200 users, all located at the same site.  We are looking for someone to cover our late morning to afternoon shift.

 

As a mid-size business, you will have the ability to work with a very wide range of technical areas and job duties.  At sometimes you may be performing help-desk type troubleshooting, while at other times you may be working on larger network improvements / additions.

 

Key Position Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience with IT support in a windows-based environment 
  • Work schedule 10am-6pm Monday-Friday
  • Physical requirements include lifting equipment, bending, utilizing ladders and more
  • Ability to prioritize severity of incoming tickets and multi-task when needed
  • Good communication skills with on-site and remote management teams
  • Ability to handle a diverse set of tasks (Some low level and some high level)

 

Responsibilities, Skills and Knowledge Requirements include:

  • Manage ticketing system, support requests are communicated via a number of methods: Phone Call, Text, Email, Instant Message, In-Person, etc.
  • Ability to identify technical issues which are causing repeat tickets and alert management
  • Ability to manage User accounts in Windows Active Directory
  • Setting up physical workstations including: Desktops, Laptops, Docking Stations, Monitors, Keyboard/mouse, VOIP Phones
  • Ability to create accounts in software appropriate to an employee’s position: Email, ERP, Document Tracking, MS Office, Printing, File Sharing, Etc.
  • Experience supporting printers and copiers
  • Basic understanding of Networking concepts (IP Address, DHCP, DNS, VLANS)
  • Understanding of Windows 10/11 operating system installations, management, and support.
  • Productive when working independently (Self-starter)
  • Ability to update and maintain network documentation as you make changes

 

Additional skills, preferred but not required:

  • As a Pharmaceutical company we have several specialty systems, including: Lab systems, serialization systems, Quality systems, etc. Any experience supporting these types of systems / applications is a plus
  • Experience with tasks such as: Hanging TVs, Running / Terminating CAT5e cables, Instilling Cameras, Etc.
  • Basic understanding of AC and DC electricity under 120V
  • VOIP and Video security system support
  • Experience in Manufacturing / 24x7 plant operation industries

 

Educational Preferences (Not Required):

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Technology or Information Systems fields
  • Any of the following certifications: A+, Network+, MCSE, CCNA
